Mogami 2972 is a quad cable (4 core), each core comprises of 7 sub cores that are made up of 26 strands of the legendary MOGAMI ‘NEGLEX’ Oxygen-Free-Copper (each core has 182 individual strands). The Mogami 2972 has a whopping 728 strands of the MOGAMI ‘NEGLEX’ Oxygen-Free-Copper running through it (2.05mm square X 4 cores, 15 AWG each core close to 12 AWG when paired).The Quad design of the Mogami 2972 reduces susceptibility to electro-magnetically (EM) induced noise from sources like light dimmers, fluorescent light ballasts and AC power transformers. The Star Quad design also improves the damping factor at the speaker. The Mogami 2972 is reinforced with a cotton filler to make it extra strong, while keeping the cable extremely flexible.
