Sakura (scientific name: Cerasus sp.): It is the collective name of several plants of the Rosaceae Sakura genus, also known as “Japanese Sakura”. There are quite a variety of cherry blossoms, with more than 300 species, and there are about 150 wild cherry blossoms in the world.

Sakura is native to the temperate rim of the Himalayas in the northern hemisphere. It grows all over the world, mainly in Japan. There are 3 to 5 flowers per branch, forming umbels, the petals are not cut at the apex, and the flowers are mostly white and pink. The flowers are usually placed with leaves or bloom after the leaves in March. The cherry blossoms change with the seasons, and the colors of the cherry blossoms are fragrant and gorgeous, and they are often used for garden viewing. Cherry blossoms can be divided into single petals and double petals. The single petals can bloom and bear fruit, and the double petals mostly do not bear fruit.

Growth habit
Sakura is a temperate and subtropical tree species. It loves the sun and has warm and humid climate conditions, and has a certain resistance to cold. The requirements for the soil are not strict, and it should be grown in loose, fertile, well-drained sandy loam, but not tolerant to saline-alkaline soil. The root system is shallow, avoid stagnant water in low-lying land. It has a certain degree of cold and drought tolerance, but has weak resistance to smoke and wind, so it is not suitable to be planted in coastal areas with typhoons.

Sakura Seeds planting method
1. Germination method: the seeds are soaked in 20-30 degrees hot water for 2-3 hours, and then soaked in cold water for 3 days and 3 nights.
2. Sand sowing method: Take out the soaked cherry seeds, mix them with moist sand and bury the seeds and the ratio of sand is 1:5. Sand storage is best placed in a sunny place. If possible, it is better to put it in a plastic greenhouse for heat preservation and sprouting.
3. In the process of sand storage, you need to use a shovel to turn it over to prevent the seeds and sand from clumping and not ventilating. The seeds will start to germinate in about 3-5 days in the sand when the temperature is usually 20 to 25 degrees.
4. Generally, new seeds are made according to the above-mentioned methods of sprouting. Normally, they can be planted in 10 days. The sprouts will be easily knocked off when they grow, so they just germinate and sown in time.
5. How thick the seed is, how thick the soil is. Under conditions, cover the soil with a layer of straw or straw curtain to water, so that the seeds are not easy to be pierced out by the water, and at the same time, it plays a role of heat preservation and moisture retention. When the buds are exposed to the ground, remove the covered straw (straw lotus) and cover them with shading nets to prevent the young shoots from being exposed to strong sunlight. When the seedlings gradually grow up, the shading nets can be used in the shade. Uncover it slowly in the day.
6. During the growth process, the soil should see dry and wet. When there are weeds, weeds should be pulled out early. Once the weeds grow up and the roots are strong, the roots of the seedlings will be disturbed when the weeds are pulled out at this time. It will affect the growth of seedlings, so weeds must be picked up when they are young.
