ไม้มงคลช่วยเสริมโชคลาภ โดยเฉพาะด้านการค้าขาย จัดอยู่ในวงศ์ Moraceae มีถิ่นกำเนิดทางใต้ของประเทศไทย เป็นไม้ยืนต้น เมื่อโตเต็มที่สามารถสูงได้ถึง 7 เมตร ลำต้นทรงกระบอก เปลือกไม้สีเทาอมน้ำตาล และมียางทุกส่วน นอกจากนี้ยังมีใบหน้าคล้ายแผ่นหนัง ตรงกลางมีสีเขียวเข้มล้อมด้วยขอบใบสีขาวอมเหลืองตลอดทั้งแผ่น มีผลกลมสีเขียวแต่เมื่อแก่จะเปลี่ยนเป็นสีแดง

นิยมขยายพันธุ์ด้วยการปักชำและตอนกิ่ง เป็นไม้ทนแดดสามารถปลูกได้ทั้งในบ้านและสวนกลางแจ้ง แต่หากปลูกในบ้านควรนำกระถางมาวางไว้ในที่โดนแดดบ้าง เพื่อป้องกันไม่ให้ใบร่วงง่าย และปลูกได้ในดินทั่วไปผสมปุ๋ยหมักหรือปุ๋ยคอก ไม่ต้องรดน้ำบ่อย วันละครั้งก็เพียงพอ
