・When brewed, it boasts a beautiful deep green color yet offers a mellow taste without bitterness. This is the defining characteristic of “rich and mellow” Japanese tea, known as “Koimaro Tea.” Driven by our desire to make Japanese tea more delicious and easier to enjoy, we first conducted a survey asking customers about their ideal Japanese tea.

・The results showed that 75% of respondents preferred “a deep green color for Japanese tea,” and 71% desired “a rich and mellow taste”! The ideal Japanese tea our customers sought was “rich and mellow.” Thus began the development of Koimaro Tea. However, making the tea color richer resulted in a more astringent taste, while achieving a mellow flavor made the color lighter. After three years of trial and error, we finally arrived at the ideal Japanese tea: rich in color and mellow in flavor.

・We use 100% first flush tea leaves. We skillfully blend three distinct flavors: the fragrant young-steamed sencha, the deep-steamed sencha with its rich taste and color, and the gyokuro, prized for its umami and deep richness. To harmonize these unique characteristics and bring out the best in each, we exquisitely blend in premium Uji matcha. This process enhances the quality of the ingredients, achieving an elegant mouthfeel and a vibrant green color. The result is the ideal taste: rich yet not astringent, perfectly mellow.
